The mission of Gibsons United Church is to celebrate diversity by being inclusive and by providing a safe oasis in time and space as a loving community which: shows compassion and acceptance to all ages, inspires through spiritual gatherings, learning and friendship, respects and encourages a variety of views and opinions/approaches to faith. We will accomplish our mission by: involving the congregation in the ministry of everyone, demonstrating leadership in responding to community needs, and reaching out with compassion through the ministries of social justice, music, studies, children and youth

Gibsons United Church features a "Go Green Team" that organizes and presents many environmental initiatives. In October 2009, their 2nd annual environmental film festival was a huge success, with many people turning out to learn and discuss and make a difference in our community. On the Gibsons United Church website, the "Go Green Team" maintains the "Green Team Blog". As well, they offer presentations and discussions on sustainability related issues throughout the year.
